It now seems that the UK police Farce, sorry Force have a new initiative in their fight against crime.................................................................................... Ticketing motorists who park too near the edge of a road.
I kid you not. Someone very close to me got a police issued parking ticket on their car on Sunday morning at 9:45 for parking too close to a T-junction. They were not parked near a busy junction or a main road. This is a quiet, residential location about half a mile from a main road. All this time i've been thinking that our police force are stretched to the limit and are severely understaffed but apparently not, as they can now indiscriminately issue tickets whenever they feel like it - too much time on their hands?
No, i'm wrong, it's a law and it must be upheld.
Therefore, I call upon the readers of this newsgroup and anyone they know to support the police in fighting this menace to society. If you see a car that's parked illegally, call your local police station and report it! (i've now taken to reporting any cars I see parked illegally and i've been told that they can only do this when it's not busy!! - no i'm not a knob, but I am someone who wants to show the Police that just because they can enforce a pointless law and be a jobsworth when it suits, it doesn't mean they have to).
Of course, you are not wasting police time as by doing this every time you see a car parked illegally, you are letting them know how you are willing to help them in their fight against crime :)
We can keep them so busy (by buttisting them) they will have to get the increase in resources they need to uphold the law :)
(and of course, if we succeed they will see how selective enforcing of laws when it's quiet ain't going to work)
PS: please forward this to everyone you know - let's show "them" that the people of the UK have had enough of lamebutt Policing!
thanks
