I was doing 50mph (the speed limit) along a long, clear and straight road. I do this every day, and the traffic rarely drops below 40mph, unless people pull out. On this particular day I was also tired.
Next thing I see is a single car stationary in the road by a junction a little in front of me. I had to slam my brakes on to go from 50mph to a complete stop. As I am comming to a stop a vehicle pulls out of the junction, and then the car in front (Jaguar) pulls away.
If the Jaguar continued going I suspect that the other car would have been able to come out of the junction before I arrived. If he couldn't he would have been able to pull out after me because I couldn't see anyone behind me. I know it was mostly my fault, but this Jaguar was dangerous. I am still unsure how it took me so long to spot it. I never noticed any brake lights.

My mind was probably telling me that he wouldn't be slowing up because there was no valid reason. Faulty brake lights also have this effect, it's really suprising how much of a difference brake lights make. With no brake lights your mind thinks that the cars are not slowing up.
