I rather like Edsels. They are cool cars, though I think they were a bit ahead of their time which is why Edsel didn't last. I do rather like the styling. To me a nice Edsel 'liner with a fire-breathing FE is quite an attractive car. I've awlays like big cars though.
I like the Maverick too. Nice sporty little car that can be both quick and fuel efficient. I was considering getting either a Meverick or a Mustang II for a while, simply for the fact that 25-30 MPG was not at all far-fetched with a 302 and T5 or SROD and it's still a neat old car.
I suppose the Pinto had it's place. My grandpa used to have one. I sure as heck would never want one though. The Taurus... It sells well so Ford must have done something right, even in they were totally unreliable pieces of junk for a few years. I'd never own one, as I'd rather have something more reliable that is cheaper and easier to maintain, not to mention something that isn't a duplicate of everything else on the road, styling wise that is.

But yeah, as far as the 'luxury truck' market. It's all advertising. Throw some softer springs and shocks in a truck, add leather and fancyt ammenities and bring the price through the roof. It's the stigma attached to them... To some it's appealing.
Now me, I prefer my eXtra Luxurious Truck. *grin* My '83 F-150 XLT stepside-shortbed with a 302, T-18 with no synchros left and an NP-208 and is up on 33's. Stout lil' truck that I beat the snot out of every time I take it wheelin and it's not let me down. I've had that thing in water up to the top of the valve covers still running and not complaining one bit. Keeps on truckin' even through water and when nearly vertical. Gotta double-clutch every shift on the mystery shifter too. I've let my friends drive and they have a hell of a time finding any of the gears, but I know where they all are, mystery shifter or not. None of that pushbutton 4wd. Shfit the transfer case with a real shifter, lock the hubs by hand. But yes, indeed it is an eXtra Luxurious Truck, as it has such luxuries as power steering, power brakes, seatbelts, and carpet. Indeed I do feel pampered while my fillings are rattled out when driving my eXtra Luxurious Truck!
