Actually the M63 before it was renamed the M60.
Lorries should get motorway priority 5281says... Do you actually know where the M62 goes? Clue, it starts 20 miles outside of Hull, goes all the way through the middle of Yorkshire and Lancashire, finally finishing in Liverpool. Remind me where...
The presence of the motorway has encouraged the growth of the Trafford Centre, B&Q Warehouse, ASDA, Costco, sports facilities etc. where until recently there were open fields. The additional junctions, traffic etc. have made pbutting theough the area, at many times, difficult and slow. As the presence of the motorway has caused the traffic problems on the alternative routes, why should I have to suffer them, simply so that you and others who do not have to live with the overdevelopment of this area can have a free pbuttage.
As an aside, if it weren't for the requirements of JIT deliveries, the timing of deliveries wouldn't be so critical. People on the other hand have appointments to keep, office and factory hours to meet, children to pick up from nurseries, etc. All of which are "critical" times to them. So maybe we should be giving priority to the free movement of people and allowing more of the goods to be delivered overnight, even if it does mean it arriving a few hours early. Yes goods transport costs would go up, but as you've told us many times before, they are but a small proportion of the cost of goods. What is the cost of workers being delayed or having to leave early to guarantee being where they need to be on time?
