says... Do you actually know where the M62 goes? Clue, it starts 20 miles outside of Hull, goes all the way through the middle of Yorkshire and Lancashire, finally finishing in Liverpool. Remind me where the M63 goes again? Its nothing to do with the transport costs going up but:
1) You'd need far more warehousing space as well as more storage space in the shops. 2) As a consequence of 1) you'd need more warehouse staff. 3) Who are you going to pursuade to work at night? Would you work from 6pm to 6am? 4) Lorries already run 24-7 so how are you going to shift all the stuff from days onto nights? 5) Where are all the wagons going to come from? 6) How are they all going to manage to get unloaded when each loading bay can only handle a certain number of lorries in a 12 hour period or do lorries magically unload themselves? Clue..takes about 1hr to unload a full artic. 5) In light of the SEVERE HGV driver shortage (80,000 and set to increase quite a bit come 3-4-2005) and the problems recruiting people for warehousing, where exactly do you intend to get these employees from?
