Made mistake. 906

Its good to know you can spot a camera but not a flood - that will keep you safe. I can understand your gloating but I think you are being naive.

I make mistakes, you make mistakes and so does everyone else. What a responsible driver will do is MINIMIZE the DANGER to themselves and others. I have attempted to do that by joining the IAM, taking an advanced course and pbutting the test. I am continuing to do that by joining RoADA to take another course and test. After that I will be tested at a minimum of every three years.

This of course does not mean i will not make a mistake. The two that I have made have both involved badly placed, revenue cameras. Neither of these mistakes were dangerous to me or anyone else. What I haven't managed to do yet is drive into a flood on a motorway, when the forecast said thunderstorms were possible, with many clues as to the waters existence and end up colliding with another car. you even posted that it had peeed down at one point, yet you STILL place yourself alongside another car, when brake lights could be seen ahead, with knowledge of the weather.

What is even more naive is the fact you ASKED what you could have done different to avoid the crash. I gave my advice on the basis of your description. If you only want a warm belly then lay on the carpet, lift your shirt and ask someone to rub it for you and stop wasting my time.

Was my observational skill lacking when flashed by the camera - YES! Was I being dangerous - NO! Have I learnt from the experience - YES! I am taking another advanced course because of the two non dangerous mistakes I have made - when are you signing up to get further training after your motorway collision and severe lack of anticipation?
