Mobile Phones whilst driving... 1081

Yes, you're right, but I don't think there's ever been a case of a filling station explosion due to mobile phone radio energy

By the time I noticed it, it was too late, he'd probably spotted me entering the car park

A bit of a sweeping statement. I don't think that using a phone in itself...

I've never seen an accident in the car park at tescos, and I think it unlikely that a serious one would happen there. However, there are many spots in Poole where there are frequently serious accidents, like the Upton bypbutt, Holes bay road, etc. It seems ludicrous that the first operations of this type I've noticed in a long time should be in Tescos car park!

Correct, I'm not saying I shouldn't have been fined, only that the resource could have been much more effectively used. Of course, it's a lot easier, safer and more profitable to pick off drivers not wearing seatbelts or on phones at £30 a time, than solving real problems that will cause serious accidents, so I guess that's got something to do with it. In this case, it was absolutely rediculous that the officer did not chase off after the reported drunk driver, in favour of completing a phone offense, when I was so obviously more alert than most drivers who aren't using phones.

Mobiles again
