fast,

jaybird - I was originally trained to drive by a stock car racer. He taught me well. I didn't just learn how to handle a car, I learned to handle it safely at extreme speeds which you WOULD arrest me for. I know that driving in excess of the speed limit is not necessarily unsafe. Being a "speeder" does not necessarily make one an unsafe driver. Unsafe drivers tend to be unsafe regardless of how fast their vehicle is travelling.

HOWEVER, it is illegal to speed in VA, and even local VA cops are not exempt from the law. I know that cops need to exceed the speed limit at times, when on duty in their own jurisdiction. What these NJ cops did in VA though, they should all lose their drivers licenses for. When they were in VA, they were civilian. What would YOU do to a civilian that you caught driving 95MPH, jaybird? Before you answer that, buttume that the state you work in considers 20-over to be reckless. You catch a civilian doing 30 over the limit in a state that considers 20 over to be reckless. What are you going to do to that civilian? EXACTLY THAT is what SHOULD have happened to all those NJ cops driving recklessly (per the law) in VA. -Dave
