Motorway Drivers

No, it's believing that you know what's about to happen before it does.

I've yet to have to make a major motorway swerve. I've hard-pulled into another lane, which whilst not as dramatic as a wholesale lane three to the hard shoulder, could easily result in some instability or a skid. I daresay the lane change could have been done with one hand, two hands or my hand in the shape of a fist with the index finger holding the wheel. But unless you're trying to tell the world that holding the wheel with one hand whilst performing just a hard lane change is as safe as holding the wheel with two, then you're also telling me that a whole bunch of professional organisations are in error with their driving buttumptions.

Unless you're some kind of Jedi?

Part of anticipatiation is being ready for the eventuality that may never happen.

Sure, I'm sure as hell not always ready. Sometimes I'm changing radio station track setting cruise control changing gear adjusting heater scratching my butt* whatever. The rest of the time both hands are on the wheel.

Terrified? Hardly. Browse my website and then tell me I'm terrified of driving. It's www.dervman.com. I may be nerdy, geeky, nutty but I am certainly not terrified of driving.

*that would be quite an achievement.
