The adjuster said she's paying for the accident; and i get a rental car. That was fast. Some things i learned as a newbie: (1) It's not always worth calling the police, and not required. In this case, it wasted an hour of my time waiting for the policeman, who said he WILL NOT say anything about who was at fault, to write it and take everyones ID. (the ins. co. made the decision without bothering with seeing police report). I can see calling them if i think the other party in an accident may be unrelialbe with giving good ID info....or if i know i'm not at fault and i think the policeman will write a good report saying i'm not at fault (but of course thats impossible to know). (2) i never knew i could directly make a claim to the other guys ins. co. I though i had to go thru mine and they would make the claims.
One thing i'd like to get is a document from the other guys ins. co. saying I was not at fault, because when I get a new ins. carrier next year, im going to have to say Yes to the question Any Accidents?, but i don't think they ask you "Who's fault was it". ( or do they).
