My first drive with RoADA

Had my first drive with RoADA on Sunday morning. I will keep you posted of my progress, and my thoughts on how the training is different to the IAM. First run was an hour where the observer wanted me to drive as I normally do, so she could buttess my current level.

No maybe not, but as with many situations it depends on speeds, distances, space available, rate of closing etc. I believe there are...

Good points ----------- Smoothness of the drive. Good use of gears Good accelerator sense Excellent use of brakes Excellent progress Excellent positioning

Bad points ---------- She considered my forward vision was limited on a couple of occasions. She said once or twice she felt I was a little late in planning for a couple of hazzards. Interesting point this one considering my recent NIP.

My impressions -------------- The observer was certainly more thorough in her explanations to me. One interesting event was my decision to move left, due to two abreast cyclists going the opposite way. I explained I was concerned at the speed of a vehicle approaching behind the cyclists so I wanted to give more room. She explained my decision to move left may have encouraged the other driver to pbutt the cyclists, instead of slowing for them. We both agreed that either reaction could have been approapriate, depending on the individual circumstance at the time.
