NIP arrived. 939were saying : But why does that make *the road* dangerous? Surely if *the road* was dangerous, crashes would happen on a grimy winter's monday morning, too? But The Road Has Not Changed. The Road Cannot...
No. Not just me.
Well that's ok. If they use the term then it must be so.
I don't really. There is no such thing as a dangerous road and that's all there is to it. I'm certainly not going to get upset about it.
I believe I have sort of accepted that "potentially dangerous" is ok :-)
Every road has an accident rate that is higher than some other road. By that logic every road, bar the one with the fewest "accidents", is clbuttified as a dangerous road. Still, I guess you can't see how stupid that is.
Wrong. I am happy about the low "accident" rate. It demonstrates perfectly that the roads are anything BUT "dangerous". As I have repeatedly said, my issue is with those who misuse language to avoid recognising responsibility.
Yes it is. And when it happens it is important to recognise it and not try to blame something else. When the person f***s up say clearly that the person f***ed up. Don't try and weasel it onto a "dangerous" road or dismiss it as "just an accident".
Wrong again. I didn't describe the road as safe. I described it as "safe".
The answer is that the "accidents" will decrease. The reason is that it is now easier to negotiate safely. That does not mean that it was prviously "dangerous", merely that is required a greater degree of care to negotiate safely.
OK. So your buttertion that the road is "dangerous" is pointless. Thankyou.
NIP arrived. 938Following up to Mark Foster whoops, didn't realise there was more below the historic "potential hazard...
