Oh yes you do. If you wish to claim that the object on the table is dangerous then you need to show how. You can't, because it isn't.
Hoorah! Thank you.
No. That is completely irrelevant. So what if someone chances upon it? It's still not dangerous. It will still just sit there doing absolutely f*** all. It is the action of using it in an inappropriate manner that is dangerous. As you have clearly stated above, the gun itself is not dangerous.
No it isn't. You have already agreed that the gun, in and of itself is not dangerous.
Right, so you agree. The gun is not dangerous, it is the people that make it so. Exactly the same thing applies to roads.
Which it isn't.
I'm not trying to make you say that at all. It is a simple fact. The gun, in an of itself is not dangerous. Full stop. The gun, sitting on the table, untouched, does NOT fit the dictionary definition that you are so fond of. *IT*, the gun, is not capable of doing anything other than existing. It cannot, in and of itself, cause harm or injury. The danger ONLY comes from a person picking it up, and using it. It is exactly the same for roads.

I don't implicitly exclude humans. You infer that I exclude humans; You're wrong; I don't. A person could be standing right next to the table and the gun is still not dangerous. In the same way, a person can be standing next to a road and it is not dangerous. A person could pick up the gun and fire it. So long as it is done with appropriate skill and care then it is still not dangerous. A driver could drive along a road with skill and care and it is not dangerous.
