Bolocks, bollocks, bollocks. Great big hairy fat bollocks. Go to ANY skid pan in the country and try to convince the instructors that the cause of a skid is the road surface or any property of it and you'll get laughed out of the course.

The cause of ANY skid is ALWAYS the driver. A skid is caused when the driver applies too much steering, braking, or acceleration (or combinations of them) for the available level of grip. That's it. There is NO other cause whatsoever. EVER. (silly examples such as getting hit buy another car etc are excluded).
