Following up to Mark Foster yes :-) No, dangerous does apply to inanimate objects. The dictionary says so. They do not...

OK. There is a machine gun on the table. Please tell me precicely how it is going to hurt you. Quite. Neither is dangerous. They just require more effort to use...

I am sure there are those that would argue that Cape Horn is not inanimate. :-)

Yes.

Not so. When people call a road dangerous they are implying that it is has some kind of life or mind of its own and that if the driver crashes then it was the fault of the road because it was "dangerous". If someone crashes and there was no other person-vehicle-animal etc involved then barring mechanical failure (possibly), it was the drivers fault. NOT the road.

It's the lack of skill that is dangerous, NOT the mountain.

No, I don't agree. That is simply a road that requires a great deal more car to negotiate safely.

No. A dangerous object is one where you are likely to be injured regardless of the amount of care taken. If it *can* be negotiated safely then it is by definition NOT dangerous.

I'll go along with that. The point of my argument is that weasel words and trying to blame the road rather than the driver is an increasing problem and it needs to be addressed.
