Why "Honest John" is a tosser 204
Peter OK, I was right, here is the first part of one of his FAQ's. 8. What's the best way to run-in a petrol engine? "Put the car on a rental...

I find these campaigns by illogical people amusing. It's not a stealth-tax; the magic solution is - don't speed. If you're only doing 10% over the limit, ie: 33 in a 30 zone, then you wont get flashed. I've seen how this technologically is calibrated, it's not going to zap you just because you're every so slightly over the limit.

It's the people who think they can drive great (sorry, who doesn't think that about themselvs? very few if we're all honest!) that think it's okay to do 40 in a 30 zone, and hence why people get end - not that they are perhaps not to blame partially themselves, but by the same token, there's a plethora of evidence (unneeded IMHO) that just reiterate basic physics - 40mph contact is more likely to harm severely than 30mph contact.

I can see why being forced to do the speed limit would annoy some people, but people should really be obeying these limits anyway, but unfortunately we know that many don't, and there's some accidents from this, some few to loss of control, some due to other factors.

I used to get annoyed at slow drivers, but it makes sense to me that the roads belong to nobody, and as long as you're keeping up to relatively near the speed-limit, and you're a careful driver then there's no reason to be going above limits; more so for 30 zones than our motorways, but 70 isn't slow, and remember that 10%, 77mph wont get you done unless you're flying in out of lanes and not indicating.

I know these cameras and the fact they do appeared to be shoved in random inappropriate places gets on peoples' nerves, but we should all be mature enough to stick to the speed limits as well as possible and generally calm down when driving :-)

I was in Italy recently...now *that's* dodgy driving!
