Well I won't comment on this case as we don't know the facts, however I do wonder why some motorbikes seem addicted to "filtering".
I came in this morning along the M4, indicated 70-75mph all the way (until the 60mph limit and the 40mph limit). Two bikes "filtered" past between me (lane 3) and the car in lane 2. The danger of riding between two cars at the speed surely outweighs the negligable time saved at traveling 3mph faster.
Of course I felt sorry for the guy on a scooter at Hammersmith, he was quite legitimatly filter past some slow moving traffic (about 15mph both lanes towards the lights), when a maniac on a push bike (for once riding on the road where he should be!) shoots out (no signal) from the bus lane (on the left of me), in front of the car infront of me (forcing that car to break hard) and across a few metres infront of the scooter. I couldn't believe he didn't get hit, which would have been a lovely thing to start the morning with. Still, I'd have had plenty of time to stay arround for witness statements as it took a refreshing 50 minutes to get to work today, rather than the normal 90 minutes.
