Actually, I generally haven't found them too bad around here. Actually, most of them are pretty empty. I'm now doing a very rural route to work now, and I really enjoy it. It's a lovely route, and dispite having many 30mph limits, and many bends I manage to do the journey maybe 20% quicker than an A-road. Oh, there are rarely many people on it, and I have never had a tailgaiter :-o, although I've only done the route twice so far.
I must confess though, I was putting lives at risk today :-(. A Pheasant decided to try commiting dissolution. Neither more or my pbuttenger know how I missed it lol. I don't know what you think, but I think need to go very slow when Pheasants are around. Do you think I should drive at the speeds I would if it was a human? I came at of a bend at speed, and when I saw the pheasant I didn't think there was any need to brake heavily for it, but I probably should have. When it walked into the road I moved to the other side, and then it walked further into the road. Infact it was in the position where I would have needed to almost stop to get past it safely. Anyway, there was some heavy braking, steering, and a little tyre squeal as I got close to it.
