Weekend DriversFor those who don't know, part of my commute consists of the A465 between Abergavenny and Newport. Going in to work at 6am-ish on a Saturday morning means 48-ish minutes at...
Theres an area I park is which is for residents, its usually dead during the day but its a residents area because the football pitch is nearby and so is the city centre.
The particular road I park on has a sign at the start which says: P (permit holders only) Sun - Sat 8am - 10pm. 1 hour, no return within 1 hour.
So I take this to mean that I can park there for 1 hour wether or not I am a P holder (a badge in the car windscreen) so I buttume a part of the road is for P only.
I got caught parking a couple of weeks back because I left my car there for like 9 hours (not a MbuttIVLEY bad thing because to park there for 9 hours costs like £7-8 anyway....) At the time I ignored this because I didnt have the spare cash and I was waiting for the reminder after 28 days (which hasnt come yet) to pay it.
I parked on the road for about 1 hour today (maybe a little more) and got the ticket.
Driving Instructors 5299I am growing increasingly concerned about the lack of professionalism displayed by Driving Instructors. Before I tar everyone driving instructor...
I have to write to the council to argue my 'case'...now I wondering
1) shall i mention that i know i have the original ticket and claim the same on both of them or will i now be forced to pay the full £60 because i admit i knew I had it? or shall i just pretend i dont know about it and try to pay it off at £30 if i have to.
2) I am gonna claim that i was parked for 1 hour (once or both times) and that I thought the section I was parking in said I could stay for 1 hour and then return again within 1 hour - will the traffic warden be able to prove what PART of the road I was on? because I am not sure if I was in the P section only... can i claim the signs are unclear? which they are TBH because I looked at the again when I got the ticket - the road has the '1 hour' sign up twice and then the P only later on with an arrow, but I think theres another '1 hour; sign a little further on (so the P ONLY is in the middle perhaps.
any suggestions?
