This week so far has set a record for me. This'll end up as a bit of a rant. Apologies in advance ;)
I walk to work because it is only 10 minutes away, and to get there I have to walk through the town centre and alongside one of the busiest streets in it.
Every time I have been on that road so far this week - so that includes walking to work in the morning, walking back home at the end of the day AND walking around to get some lunch - I have had to suffer some arse driving through in his "souped-up" car with his windows wound right down and his music blaring out FAR too loud.
I can't be the only one who finds this annoying. Judging by the reactions of people around me when it happens, I almost certainly am not. They stare at the offending driver, shaking their heads and tutting.
Are there any existing regulations that prohibit these idiots playing their music that loud? I'm talking loud enough that I can hear the thumping bbutt at least 15 to 20 seconds before they actually drive past me.
If there aren't, should there be? IMO it causes a mbuttive public nuisance. Nobody likes to have their quiet stroll through town interrupted by these muppets. To add insult to injury, most of the ones I see seem to drive like idiots as well and even race each other with their mobiles pressed to their faces.
I don't mind music playing in earshot if it is fairly unintrusive. But when you can't hold a conversation with the person next to you because of the bbutt, surely that's just too much?
Perhaps as GATSOs are here to stay they could put built-in sound detectors as well to detect excessive sound ;) Until that happens my only consolation is that most of the time their stereo systems can't handle the strain and will likely blow up before long!
