Police Chases 4421

Deer Danger
This is a peak time of year for deer crashes, even in heavily populated areas. It's happened to almost every driver: a deer jumps...

Police Chases 4422
I think most cops would agree with you, but it's the rationale of the liberal thinking...

When the hell is there going to be some rationality to the rules for police chases?

The one last week, where the guy was shot and end on live TV, had a point where the guy hit a guard rail, the cops were right there, and they didn't block him in with their cars or ram his car. Why? Because they have a rule against it!

There are people that run from the cops at 100+ mph, and the cops simply chase them without making any effort to actually stop them. It used to be that if you ran, you got shot at. Yeah, that was a long time ago, but the practice should be brought back. Run from the cops and get a bullet. Too dangerous? More dangerous than letting the chasee blow stop light after stop light, risking everyone else with a 4000 lb "bullet" of his own? Nope. Shoot 'em!

Duckling LLBs cut off
LLBs don't like when they try to drive beside some vehicles in the right lane and match speeds. It seems that some...

How about the idiocy of multiple cop cars chasing someone doing 35 mph, mile after mile, without doing something to stop them? Run 'em off the road with another vehicle! Box him in. Do something. Stop the idiocy.

And, just to highlight a double standard, what about being unable to shoot someone, and unable to ram their vehicle to stop them, but its OK to throw "stop strips" that flatten the tires of someone doing over 100 mph, so their tires go flat and they crash, probably killing them. A few years ago, they did that to a fleeing motorist, the perp avoided the strips, but a pursuing female deputy sheriff didn't, her tires were flattened, she crashed and was end.

The bottom line is that the reason for all these high speed chases is the milktoast policies of the police against actually doing anything other than chasing, chasing, and chasing until the perp crashes, either in a single car wreck or taking someone else out. We can only hope the chasee is taken out at an intersection by a semi-truck. But its not rational to simply hope for that without doing anything else pro-active.
