Hm. I've never lived in a city where parking was a problem, except when I was a student at UCF.
One time they booted my car for having too many tickets. So I took an acetalyene torch and cut it off. (don't ask why I had a torch in my Toyota)
At the end of the semester when I went to pay my tickets so I could get "oh that one" "so err, um, was there anything uh, wrong with it?" "oh you mean like having a boot on it?" "YES!" "Nope." She just looked at me blankly without any idea of what to say to that.
Yup. That pickup that got run off the road by the Caddy? The cops couldn't do anything w-o seeing it happen. Me and the pickup driver called, with the plate number, driver description and everything.
On the other hand, I've done some stuff myself.
One time when I still lived in an apartment complex, I was leaving for work, and this 5.0 mustang was sitting parked in the middle of the road trapping me in. He didn't even leave his motor running. So I backed up my SV-650 as HARD as I could and WHAM! dented the living hell out of his door, then I took the bike up on the sidewalk so I could get out. It took him 2 weeks to figure it out and come back and hbuttle me. By then I was leaving to move into my house, so I didn't care, I just parked the bike inside for a couple weeks.
Do unto others as they do unto you.
If a car parks next to my bike, so that any of the tires are completely over the line, then I have some sharp little behavior modification devices I can slip under the tire. One time I even did this while there was still a pbuttenger in the car, by dropping my glbuttes case so it rolled next to a wheel.
I also lane split on the expressway at 70mph, unless I have my large hardbags attached. I don't have anything to live for, and I think it comes across, so people back off.
Yup. Almost got run over by a cop speeding through a red light. Cops suck as much as anybody.
and we'd set various rewards like buying lunch at wendy's for the sharper eyed one. This is back when we were wanna-be fighter pilots and drove GSXR-750s and poo. That sort of practice DOES make a difference, and today I can spot cops and other people just go "where??".
Cops are just another roadway hazard, just like spilled oil or an idiot on his cellphone... you gotta spot 'em and deal.
Recently they did the thing of dressing speed-trap cops as surveyors or road workers. poo hit the fan over that big time, and it got stopped.
Did you fight it? One of the things cops depend on is people saying "I haven't got the time" - at least in FL they don't get paid for going to court, so 9 times out of 10 the cop doesn't show and you get an instant dismissal.
I got clipped for going 32 in a 30 once. I mailed the check and happened to overpay the ticket by $2. So what did they do? Pay my ticket and refund me $2? f*** no, they returned my check and suspended my license!
Caution: Driver doesn't give a poo 3821DTJ Or maybe they weren't interested in getting promotions at the expense of the truth. It happens, you know... HOW THE LION BENEFITS FROM THE LITTLE ANIMALS' POVERTY One day...
So first thing I hear is a FHP pulling me over for suspended licence. They were going to tow my bike and some guy said "hey, he's a friend of mine, how about parking it at my place down the road?" and let me pick the bike up later after the cops left. The cop probably figured he didn't know me from Adam, but there was nothing he could do about it.
NEXT day the returned check shows up in the mail! The dog learned some new swear words that day.
That's the LAST time I didn't fight a ticket.
I remember being at the DL office once, and this old lady fails the vision test, so she gets all peeed off and is like "I don't see why this is important" and I said "so buttholes like you don't hit people like me" and she got mad and stomped out.
Check this out:
84yo butthole pulls out of his retirement village in front of a 50,000lb tanker truck. Thank god he's dead. Unfortunately he end the truck driver too.
right or privilege or BIG BUSINESS 3817Exactly. University Blvd near UCF is a prime example. It's now a WITH THE SAME 45MPH SPEED LIMIT IT HAD WHEN IT WAS A SIMPLE 2-LANER 10 YEARS AGO. GAAAHH!! The unfortunate part...
