saying : Ah, so we're extending it to harnesses now? Compebreastive impacts aren't very similar to road impacts - I can't recall many international rally special stages including 38-ton wagons...

On Thursday had cause to take a drive along the A92 from Halbeath area to Glenrothes. On joining at Halbeath I saw some distance in front what appeared to be a car marked with Police Livery (the reflective stuff on the rear end). Obviously, cars behind him were keeping to the speed limit. He was in L2 as far as I could tell from the distance most if not all the time. As I eventually caught up doing about 80-85 mph I noticed it was a Ford Galaxy. It had full poilce livery on it (blue and yellow reflective stuff on the side and the stripes on the back). It said "Road Safety Unit" on the rear screen. It had no blue lights. It seemed that everyone behind him thought he would have a power to stop vehicles and so kept behind him. I got behind him and as soon as I could moved into L1 (after moving past other slower cars in L1). He stayed in L2 doing between 76 and 80 (GPS verified) for about 2 mile. Didnt overtake a thing. I was getting bored of this, all I could see behind was mbuttes of traffic bunching up travelling nose to tail. Knowing he had no power to stop me I flashed him as to hint to him to move over into L1 and let people get on with it. Did he budge, did he &*&^. Flashed about 3 or 4 times until he eventually got the hint and pulled in. When I moved to L2 and overtook him you ought to of seen the dirty look he gave me!! As If I was in the wrong for wanting to use both lanes properly!! He wasnt a copper by the way, just had a white shirt on, no thingies on his shoulders etc. Tosser Hi Steve,

I see you signed your message using the word "tosser" which might be quite appropriate in your case. The vehicle you describe can direct you to stop and if you take the time to look inside, it is fitted with the usual speed detection and video kit. Be expecting a ticket through the post as they have a camera in the front and the back. You don't know who was driving the vehicle or for what purpose, but you might find out soon. People that drive in a similar manner to the way you describe yourself as driving have a total lack of respect for other road users and should really be banned. It might make the roads a safer place. You sound like a very young and inexperienced driver, possibly about 17 or 18 that has never driven on their own before after pbutting a test. One day you will learn.
