First, sorry for the shoddy snip. Do you know the road from the Forth Road Bridge to the Barnton? Dual carriage all the way to the part time lights just up from the Cramond Brig? I would imagine you do. Anyway, there are speed cameras at the lights which are not active. As far as I know the 50 imit imposed by the council was declared invalid in a court case, but all the signs are still up. I regularly go through the speed cam at 70 mph, which is the speed limit for the dual carriage way before Edinburgh council started buggering about, and guess what? I don't get flashed. But, the amount of traffic that slams on the brakes at the camera is just silly. They are happy to break the speed limit until they hit the camera (which doesn't work). I'm happy to continue until I hit the real 40 mph limit past the Brig. Really peees me off it does. Especially those numpties who insist on sitting in lane 2 when lane 1 is clear. I think that they think they are saving me from myself. It's really funny when they do pull over and I keep going at full chat through the camera and there is no flash. Even funnier is when I slow to the 40 mph limit, they overtake because they have seen I don't come to grief, but the section they are really speeding on is full of driveways that may suddenly have a car pulling out of. Sigh. Or maybe the cameras are for people going through red? Who knows?
