Police at RTA 5559

The other posters have said that the officer made a mistake which is indeed probably right. But do you want to join in on this yobbish culture that we live in and stick two fingers up to the police and not do as requested, or do you want to the right thing and show your help?

RE: Dyslexic Number Plates 5562
If you was to be stopped by a police officer and your plates were checked then you could find yourself in prison for having the wrong plates on your car, especially...

Maybe you can get in contact with the officer and ask him to clarify what he wants, this may make it aoll clearer for you and put your mind at rest.

When the police issue a HORT-1 which is the producer, you have 7 days clear of midnight that day to produce the requested documents at your nominated police station anywhere in the country. This isnt the police buttuming that your wife is at fault, they will use the oppurtunity of them attending to ask for documents from all drivers concerned. I'm sure your wife is insured etc so you have nothing to worry about. The HORT-1 system is a way of checking that people are enbreastled to drive and are insured to do so. It is by no means water-tight but its a good start in doing it.

RE: Wife asked me this.... 5561

If the accident was a none injury there is very little chance of the police following it through and prosecuting unless there are many witnesses to point the finger at one particular car. The police will only generally go for blame-prosecution when there is a serious injury or absolute proof of blame (ie someone driving wrong way down one way street etc)

Hope this helps
