Police at RTA 5560

Hello,

I think your wife has misunderstood, which is easy after being shaken up by an accident. If the police man wanted details producing he would have given her a HORT1 form at the scene of the accident. Your wife would have been asked to specify a police station she wanted to produce documents to. If the police man phoned he would have given his name and number, then asked if it was convenient to visit the station he was at. There would have been NO time limit unless the HORT1 was issued at the scene - otherwise how would the police man prove the documents were requested or follow it up if they were not? If you want to clear it up you're better speaking to the police as what do you think asking here will achieve? No one will be able to help you on here as they do not know what was said on the phone and do not know any of the details - we only have your version. Phone or visit the local police station and give the details of the accident, they will be able to call up the incident log on the computer for that day - then give you the name and number of the police man concerned, or at least for someone that was deployed to the job so they can contact him. He-she will be able to tell you how to find the police man concerned and will either leave a message or put a call out on the radio for you if he happens to be on duty.

You really need to speak to the people concerned rather than asking here. You know it makes sense. As for procedure, again stop looking to blame someone, we only have your side of the story which is pbutted on from the person concerned. So we don't know what happened at the scene, who was to blame, who was involved, or why the police did different things. They will explain it to you if your wife is unable to.
