RE: Advice Wated

Steve Some dozy twonk opened their car door and the wind blew it hard against my back wheel arch.

I wouldnt of minded so much if I had an apology from them, all the stupid girl chav said that it was the wind that blew it and so what???!?!?. Her mum (the driver) didnt seem to be too bothered eabout it either. Just the culture we sadly live in now. As it goes, I now have an inch long dink in the wheel arch but I know that it will probably look worse if i get it fixed so I would of just accepted a sincere apology and seen the mum giving the daughter a good bollocking for doing it.

Steve -------------- What exactly would you have liked the mother to have given her a bollocking for? For the wind blowing the car door? If the girl had apologised to you then there would have been no need for the girl to get a bollocking would there? But, since she didn't have the manners to apologise she should have been bollocked for that, but her mother should have taught her some manners in the first place.

The girl had an accident caused by the wind. She didn't have the manners or decency to apologise to you for it because she has been brought up wrong. So the mother is at fault for bringing the girl up wrong and is liable because it is her car and not the girls.

DevilsAdvocate: To reply to your question, you are probably better off not reporting the incident to the police. Although you did have the best of intentions in mind when you went for a pen to write the details down, the other driver obviously thought that you had just left it as it is. The other driver should have left his contact-insurance details with you and taken your registration number had he-she wanted to resolve this peacefully.

I think that restrictions are not needed. I do however think that better education on the use of motorways would be better. There are far too many times that you see a...

I doubt that this person would want to go to the insurance company to get compensation for the damage now, as he-she as sought their revenge by purposly damaging your car.

You could however, if you was so inclined, report the incident to the police and state what happened in the result of the other driver contacting his insurance company. But I doubt that will happen.
