Demolishing roads will take as long as it took to build them, if not longer since Dinamite can never be used near homes and buisnesses.

If anything it would be just like tapes and CDs. Once the CDs started rolling in, the use of tapes slowly declined over time. I would imagine that a good quarter of Americas roads would become abandoned and funding for keeping them going would halt. All of the rest of the roads that are needed and used will continue to remain.

In this country, peoples needs and desires rule over what takes place. So long as it's profitable. Capitalism and all.

Might take less for just the interstates, but they aren't interesting for driving anyway. US101 along the Pacific is interesting - not I-5.
