DADE CITY - A judge on Thursday ordered a Tampa woman to pay $100 in court costs and complete a driver's education course for causing a wreck that end three friends in September. Aldrick Drummond, 19, was cited for careless driving in the Interstate 75 crash that also injured her twin sister.

Her attorney, Doug Wight, appeared in Pasco County Court on Thursday and pleaded no contest to the civil infraction on her behalf. Drummond, a student at Florida A&M University in Tallahbuttee, did not attend.

"This is not exactly a troublesome case," County Judge Robert Cole said during the hearing.

"Ms. Drummond's driving record is absolutely clean."

Wight said the victims' families had not been vindictive about the wreck.

None of the victims' family members could be reached Thursday.

leftists=traitors is a fool. In fact, that's being kind to him. Here is the full article. A tragic accident. QUOTE Driver To Pay $100 In bane Crash Published...

Drummond was driving her 2001 Nissan Altima north on Interstate 75, north of State Road 52, when she lost control of the car and hit a center median. The car slid into a concrete support, spun and hit another pillar.

Drummond's three back-seat pbuttengers - Andromeda Spencer, Viquilla Troupe and Alana Williams - died in the wreck.

Drummond and her sister, Audrick, who was riding in the front pbuttenger seat, survived. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Troopers determined Drummond was not speeding but cited her for careless driving a month after the accident.

Careless driving is a civil infraction, much like a speeding ticket. Drummond was not charged with a criminal offense.

After Thursday's hearing, Wight would not answer questions about how his client has dealt with the wreck.

"It's a very sad case, and I'm not going to open up my client's personal life," he said.

The crash happened as the five friends were returning to Tallahbuttee after visiting their families in Tampa. Spencer, 20; Troupe, 18; Williams, 19; and Audrick Drummond were students at Florida State.

The women roomed together except for Troupe, who lived on campus.

Spencer was a biochemistry major who aspired to be a doctor. Williams, the 2004 valedictorian of Middleton High School, was studying accounting; Troupe was a biology major.

Puts a different slant on it than the snipped article you posted. A tragic accident -- but we can always count on some butthole to try to make something sordid out of it.
