OK, I realise I've got more chance of winning the lottery than someone here seeing it but I did a really stupid thing.
Returned to the van in Charles II Street, put my tools and test equipment in the back and as always locked the back door straight away. Sat in the front getting the details of my next job and took a swig from my bottle of water. Put the bottle on the pbuttenger seat where it promptly fell over and soaked the arse of my trousers and the drivers seat. Went to the back of the van to get a cloth, had a pleasant chat and a joke about my predicament with a pbutting couple and went back to my soggy drivers seat.
Yes, I peeed off up Regent Street to my next job with the back door open and dumped my tool box somewhere along the road. I was flashed and told by someone and immediately ran back down the road like a lunatic but no sign of the tool box. I'm guessing the tool box stopped traffic so I buttume it would have been a driver who picked it up. More than likely a driver who then drove past me after I stopped so I'm not expecting to see it again.

For the amount of trouble it is going to cause me replacing everything I thought it was worth asking here on the tiniest off chance. For example, IMHO black cabbies seem to have a reputation for honesty and if one had picked it up I'd think there was a fair chance of it ending up in a police station when he had a convenient chance to drop it off.
I reported it 'Lost in the street' at Saville Row police station. If it does get handed in at another police station does anybody here know if the police would tie that in with sometihing reported lost elsewhere?
I'm off to Maplin to do some shopping so I can start making up all the custom test leads I used to have. Sigh.
