Remember Terrorism is a MICROSCOPIC problem 3582Greg Procter Of course. You don't think we'd kill ourselves, do you? I know, you are never right and always stupid. The Paki government doesn't agree with you. What peaceful village? Yawn... Double...
Hamas, as an avowed enemy of Israel, would probably never acknowledge that anything about Israel, including it's election process is legitimate. Doing so would be official recognition of Israel.
I don;t think they have to worry about that. The existing Palestinian authority is pretty much imploding because of the Hamas win.
I suggest you send the Israeli government your suggestion. I seriously doubt that they'll consider it for long. What you want, and think should be, are idealistic, and extremely unlikely to happen given current events in the Middle East. That's just the way it is. Personally I don't think it would hurt to give the Palestinians a voice in the elections, but it was much more likely to happen before Hamas got the brbutt ring.
If they appreciate Democracy for what it is and not just a means to an end (that end being Hamas control of the West Bank). I'm not optomistic.
"If" is meaningless.

It's far less likely that there will be a unified state now that Hamas has such a prominant role. That's the reality.
