I suspect that a lot could be done to contain some of the worst driving if only there were a quick and easy way for other motorists to report them - effectively. That ability might also reduce the temptation to get even (roadrage). Having justice being seen to be done can work wonders all round.
When I see a car weaving around and even crossing lane markings as I follow, it is almost a certainty that they are on the phone. Mind you, I have been wrong on occasions. Sometimes they are shaving, plucking their eyebrows, or even reading a book. Actually I deeply resent this sort of irresponsible behaviour, because it is putting my life, among others, in serious jeopardy. I realise that for some on the group I have just erred over into the blame mentality, but who could drive sensibly enough not to suffer from someone switching lanes and ramming your car in the side as you overtake? How sensible can you get? Yes, if someone is weaving around with a mobile phone in one hand and a shaving brush in the other, theyare to blame.
Does anyone have any info or thoughts about how cases of bad driving can be effectively reported to the police? Preferrably in time to catch them at it. Is it as simple as 999? Experiences, please?
