I cannot believe that anybody could be stupid enough to think it is the opposite. You are BOTH planning to stop if there is...

Cessna172 Oh Gawd, the big IAM again. Many, many moons ago a Company I worked for had a 'Head of Sales' with the highly appropriate initials 'BS'. ;-) BS was an IAM member and jumped at any opportunity to criticise anybody's driving. After I left this Company I kept in touch with some of the staff. A while later I was told that BS was in hospital with multiple injuries following a collision between his car and a tree in thick fog. The collision speed was estimated at about 60mph and I don't think the tree would have been going very fast! ;-) Several months later I was waiting to turn left out of a T junction with poor visibility and had stopped with my front bumper a few inches over the stop line in order to be able to see oncoming traffic. To my surprise, BS appeared from my left making a right turn into the road I was leaving. He wagged his finger disapprovingly at me and pointed to the stop line I was overhanging. I ignored him and continued my left turn when safe to do so. A few weeks later I went to a works reunion with that Company and who should be there but BS. His opening words to me were "I remember you, you were over the line, damned bad driving!" I waited for him to finish then politely asked 'hit any good trees lately?' He turned bright red and stormed off; I've never seen him since. -- ;-) 73 de Frank Turner-Smith G3VKI - mine's a pint.
