It's hard to tell whether something is 'normal' and 'advanced', but some of those things I could consider to be normal, or maybe common sense. Driving up the backside of vehicles is (I think) in the HWC, and it's also common sense. I've never been taught to drive up backsides of large vehicles, didn't do it on my driving test, and have always tried to avoid it. Why do people do it? It's not just a lack of advanced driving skills.

I've seen people with P plates who use push-pull steering, drive smoothly, don't cut people up, and don't roll back on hills etc. These people do lack experience, and confidence, but they will eventually gain experience. It's very nice to see people drive like this, but very few experienced drivers are like this. Actually I don't think I've seen anybody use the push-pull technique other than my driving instructor, and a policeman on TV.
