Rolling road block 242

Steve Firth

Got stuck in a yellow box junction
Hi, I was in London going along west cromwell street I believe, and about halfway down...

I very, very rarely see a PSV-LGV driver behaving other than considerately or skillfully on the road.

Seeing one pulling over to let past a queue is an everyday occurrence - I cannot remember a single instance of a slow moving car driver showing such consideration.

The pratt coming over the brow of a blind hill on the wrong side of double white lines will be in a car (or white van man). The one with 6 unsecured children on the back seat will be a car. The one with 20 sheets of hardboard tied to the roof with twine will be a car. The one with windows covered in snow and ice, yet belting along at 80 will be a car. The one with no tax, no insurance, no driving licence, no MOT will be a car.

A professional driver has to drive thousands and thousands of miles not letting "road rage" or even bloody mindedness affect his driving - his livelyhood depends on not having accidents, in spite of that mileage and the idiocy or plain lack of skill of other motorists.

If car drivers haa to exhibit the same skill in their driving tests as PSV-LGV drivers had to exhibit in theirs, the roads would be a lot safer and a whole lot emptier..

Steve Firth LOL, too cloudy to see, at the moment. The roads on which we travel obviously differ. I rarely get onto a motorway and then usually...
