I would imagine it's the same position as turning right from that same road - over to the right and fully within your own lane and mindful of whatever type-size of traffic is coming towards you in advance of stopping to wait. Once it's safe I would pbutt in the lane for the oncoming traffic.
They do not need to indicate to pbutt them but they do need to indicate if they are changing lanes, whatever the reason. Steve F described indicating to overtake the nutter in the Rover, which is why I was curious as I see a lot of drivers do it. It's usually clear enough what's going on and I buttme they learned to drive more than a few years ago when it was encouraged.
Heh. There's a nice long 60mph stretch near here which is quite open and safe, but some drivers pootle along at 40 or even 30 for the entire length because the roads at either end are 40 and 30 and they just carry driving at that speed. I've never noticed if it's a Rover before, but now I'm going to pay attention to the culprits and see!
