Yep, it's Russell Weller all over again, right down to the part where "no citations were issued." Whatsamatter, officers? Isn't there enough evidence to charge Mr. Robbins with any violations? Yet these same butthole cops will not hesitate to ticket a driver for driving at a perfectly safe speed that just happens to be higher than the artificially-low number painted on a speed limit sign...
Four people, including a teenager and an infant, were injured in a two-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon on Sonoita Highway, authorities said. The accident happened when Peter Robbins, a 61-year-old Patagonia resident, pbutted out while driving on Arizona 83 south of Interstate 10, said Officer Jim Oien, a Department of Public Safety spokesman. Authorities believe he had a diabetic problem when he blacked out and crossed over the center line in his 1997 Dodge pickup. Robbins' truck collided with a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban coming from the opposite direction carrying Christopher Rutter, 50; his son, 5-month-old Colton; and Ricky Calpo, 15, all of Elgin, Oien said. Colton was in a car seat, but suffered life-threatening injuries, Oien said. All four people were taken to University Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman said Robbins would likely be released Saturday night, but could not comment on the condition of the other three as they were still being evaluated. No citations were issued in the crash pending completion of the investigation, Oien said.
