SKALPEL

That's one of the New Rules of the American Road:

* Overtaking in high-risk, low-benefit situations is mentally and emotionally tiring. Be sure to give yourself a chance to rest by driving slower than the person you just pbutted had been going.

Some others that the drivers handbook has not caught up with:

* Dialing has right of way over talking.

I'd agree the ride was good, but I wouldn't say they handled well. It was OK within it's limits, but those limits were relatively low, even compared...

* First one to make eye contact must give way. When approaching an entrance or exit ramp, close ranks with the car in front and fixate upon your hood ornament, studiously avoiding all knowledge of the intentions of those around you. Similarly, when merging, exiting, or changing lanes, avoid actions that give valuable information to the enemy. Turn signals may however be used as a gesture of triumph after completion of a difficult and contested maneuver, in which case they should be left on for the next several miles.

* Inexperienced young drivers must warn others of their presence at all times by using a subwoofer that makes the ground shake at a distance of not less than 100 yards.

much like they were saying : Volume, amortisation of development costs... The E39 was sold in a LOT more markets, and almost certainly an order of magnitude...

* Fog lights, if so equipped, shall be used continuously under all conditions except actual fog, in which case all lights shall be extinguished, on the theory that they can't hit what they can't see.

* When maneuvering near a large truck, remember that if its driver presses the circle and triangle at the same time while pulling back on the joystick, it can teleport safely out of your way.

* Basic emergency gear such as a flashlight, a brightly colored raincoat, some old warm clothes, a fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit, an buttortment of basic tools, and something to eat and drink takes up valuable trunk space. Plunge into any weather and driving situation with just the clothes on your back, confident that in this age of cell phones, the auto club and state troopers can get you out of trouble before anything really bad could possibly happen.
