My road has a pretty nasty bend at the bottom of it. If another car's comming the other way I'm usually almost up the kerb with hardly any room between the two cars. I had always buttumed that it was just really narrow, but then a few days ago I meet a mbuttive SUV. The size of an SUV, and the ability of SUV drivers on a narrow bend looked like trouble to me. As I went around, I found that there was a mbuttive gap between us, and there must've been a foot between me an the kerb. I was amazed! If a big SUV can do it then why can't a Micra do it, or any other normal car. I was very shocked at how much room there was, and it shows that about 99% of drivers can't go around the corner with a very good safety margin. I don't think I've ever had so much room on that bend.
SUV drivers aren't all idiots! 5325SimonJ exclude heavy, Imprezas. uk.rec.driving. ROFL, what should we call them then? Cambridge dictionary : SUV "sports utility vehicle: a large car with an engine...
Anyway, I also had another SUV experience which I found quite amusing. The was a woman driving an SUV, and she was trying to park. She tried 3 parking spaces (at the side of the road), and scuffed her wheels loads of times before finally parking up. The funniest thing is that you could've probably got a bus in one of the spaces, at least 3 SUV's. She started to park in this mbuttive space, and then the car in front pulled away. I could then see her clearer, and her wheels were touching the kerb, and she was making a right old mess of it. At this point the other car had left her with enough space to park a bus, but instead of correcting it she pulls away and finds another space. The first space she tried would've been tight, but probably possible, and I was watching to see if she could really do it. She tried going in front ways though and had no chance. She was obviously stupid, why did she buy the biggest car in the world if she can't park. It was a Vauxhall, and looked big even for an SUV. There weren't any pbuttengers in there either, unless they had jumped with fear ;-)
