Well, it was a genuine Saab exhaust, on minimum movement to the rubbers, with factory height brand new springs with original length shock absorbers.

I got completely lost
I went to the kit car show today, and it was great! There were a few Ferrari replica's, a really nice mini replica, a mini which was made into a...

The fact that the car was 20 years old, and came from a country that rarely uses speedbumps (tend to be useless under a foot of snow) might actually have a bearing. But you didn't think that did you. You automatically buttumed a fault rather than a design that predates the use of large speedbumps.

The fact of the matter is, after it happened the 3rd time, I contacted the technical people at the club. Is quite commonly known to happen to cars with brand new exhaust and rubber hangers too. Seems it was something Saab themselves have become aware of, but didn't recall to fix, because it was first reported 10 years after (in the UK at least) the car was faces lifted, which was 3 years after the total production had ceased. Funilly enough it had been fine for the 15 years of production. It wasn't until the loony insistance in traffic calming measures on anything with a vehicle speed higher than footpath, that the problem first reared its head. -- "Sorry Sir, the meatballs are Orf" The poster formerly known as Skodapilot.
