It can be really nice up there in summer when the conditions are right. Just like fall down here is when the lawn stops growing (and I can put the mower away for the season) and football season starts heating up.
Dont's be so sure. We had a snow storm here in S. Georgia in 1989 (IIRC). Six inches of snow paralyzed the town for almost a week. Granted they don't happen too often, but is is not unheard of.
