Slow, not necessarily safer

I often find myself driving along single carriageway roads where NSL applies. Will often come behind cars doing 45 mph, generally driven by females or more elderly folk. Now, you may say this is completly OK, although the speed lmit for the car on a NSL SC is 60, that speed is not compulsory. I too, see nothing wrong with it, I will often overtake, their lack in speed helping me to overtake more safely and promptly.

That is absolutely right. If your vision in daylight was as impaired as it is at night, you would probably fail the driving test eyesight test. Even on main beam headlights on the rare...

These drivers are probably thinking that they are been safe drivers cos they are doing 45mph, which for a SC is probably safe speed to do. But the thing that really annoys me is that when they get to a built up area THEY STILL GO THROUGH AT 45MPH!!! Its as if they are on auto-pilot. So, to be legal, I will slow to 30 which obviously creates a large gap between me and the 45mph numpty. This gap is then filled with ppl coming from side roads that will follow 45 mph numpty onto another stretch of NSL without any thoughts of overtaking but drive so close to each others bumper that it makes overtaking dangerous cos you cant just overtake one at a time you have to do the whole lot of them!

My rant over

Steve
