So a diesel wins Le Mans for the first time ever

TD's are very popular across most of Europe hence Shell's "V Power" performance diesel (exactly what makes it better than normal diesel is probably about as debatable as there optimax range. It would probably have been an Audi 1-2 if the number 7 hadn't been punted from behind by a GT car. It's only really in the UK (as far as Europe is concerned) that TDi engines are still frowned upon manly be dinosaurs of motoring journalists and people who have never bothered to take one of the current generation of TDis out for a decent thrash. I was one a few years back when I was going round in 3l V6 Alfas and Lotus Elise, even two years ago I wouldn't have considered a TDi until I got a 110 VW as a curacy car it hardly set the worlds alight performance wise but it wasn't smelly, smoky or unrefined, it had mbuttes of torque (I have always loved lot's of low down grunt) and didn't feel asthmatic or restricted at the top end. So when my commuting distance tripled I decided to try one of the latest models, it will happily cruise at 140+ (where the law permits) and under my normal driving on A and B roads happily returns 56+mpg every day unless I'm picking on a Focus ASBO.
