OT,sortabicyclist kills pedestrian
Well according to the article, the collision occurred in a crosswalk. And it seems that the officer did not believe the cyclist claim that he stopped at the stop sign. When I was...

As I said, if you watched what I did with the lights for 5 minutes you'd know exactly what was happening - the road ahead of me was being systematically cleared of those congestion-causing PLBs. ;)

I stated it elsewhere in my post: my own experience, coupled with the sheer number of violators driving around with impunity, is clear evidence that the law is rarely enforced.

When a law *is* strictly enforced, drivers do toe the line. To see this fact in action, one need only visit San Francisco and watch what happens when a pedestrian steps off the curb.

Which leads back to my point about going after the most egregiuous offender. It's a good way to maximize the effectiveness of a limited resource.

I think the point where we disagree is the ranking of offenses. ;)

And you chide us for making prejudicial buttumptions about cops...

TIME TO BRING BACK THE HORSE AND BUGGY
laura bush - VEHICULAR HOMICIDE Oh yes, of course. First, Bush invaded Iraq to steal their oil (somehow his father must have plain forgotten to do this doing the first gulf war). Now we 'don't...

If I videotape it, then play if for the cop, the cop can "witness" the offense (in precisely the same way cops "witness" violations recorded by red light cameras).

What do you suppose a cop would do if I presented him with a videotape of a PLB, complete with a clear view of the driver and the vehicle's license plate? ;)
