I regularly drive along the route. As you would expect in Wiltshire, it's a rural route. It's a pleasant section of road with widely spaced junctions and noticeably less traffic than the London - Reading end of the M4.

This has arisen because they let morons make the rules. As I've said before, not taking account of the volume of traffic is nonsensical. So there spending time and effort on a motorway which would be better spent on more dangerous urban roads.

EuroRap says that the M4 J15 - J17 has a low accident rate ie 0 - 15 bane and serious accidents per billion vehicle kilometres.

In any case, M4 J15 - J17 is 19 miles.

The mobile camera siting guidelines state that at least 2 KSI per Km in the last 3 calendar years should have happened. This obviously has not happened over the whole length -
