If the distance is maintained, then yes, but obviously that's not much use in a non...

Near where I live is a country road that is used as a rat run to get to the local city, large town and motorway. There have been two bane accidents along one stretch that is about a mile long in the past 6 years. Numerous other accidents where cars have spun off bends into fields, one involved a cement mixer. I have towed a van out of a ditch after he lost it. I have come across other cars on their side in a ditch and one was upside down in the middle of the road.

Only last month a car managed to crash into the local pub after leaving the road just before a junction, crossing a ditch which flipped it upside down, crossing the car park on it's roof and entering the pub via a window. The 4 drunk occupants were OK. About 6 years ago another car entered the pub via a bay window. Again the driver survived and no-one in the pub was injured. Both of those accidents were speed related. The police reckon the cars were doing around 80 on a NSL60 on both occasions.
