Speeding sucks 4150

Magnulus

We've already gone over this. Airbags deploy with much more force than is necessary to help a belted driver. This is due to the FMVSS 208 requirement that an airbag is to provide protection to a 50th percentile size male dummy.

This means that airbags, as they have been implemented here, have been safety neutral to safety negative.

Also, you neglect the fact that the baneity rate had been declining long before airbags were mandated.

The only reason I'm "wrong," is the fact that you're ignoring statistics that I'm citing.

The air travel industry has fewer baneities than any highway system in the world, but the count is still greater than zero. What point were you trying to make again?

Like I said before, it's *not* due to higher speeds. It's *despite* higher speeds. Similarly, the baneity rate continues to decrease despite the fact that we're driving faster now as compared to 15 years ago.

The engineers who design the road.

Those are statutory limits. They have nothing to do with design speed.

Better tires and braking technology came along with it.

Limits of car is important, but limist of human physiology are also important. If you are travelling at 100 mph, it is going to take you more space to react...

The data wasn't collected by police. Try using Google once in a while.

Truck drivers can see further ahead, and the highway isn't a place with frequent stops as it is.
