Sheriff's deputies handcuffed Stansfield, 17, and took him to jail Friday after an emotional hearing where he pleaded guilty to two counts of criminally negligent homicide stemming from the crash.
Stansfield had his driver's license only 10 days and had never driven with pbuttengers until that foggy, rainy night last year, when his three friends piled into a Lexus.
As he sped down Inspiration Drive east of Parker, his car crossed the center line and smashed into an oncoming Chrysler driven by Marvin Gilchrist, 77.
Three investigators have reconstructed the accident and estimated the speed variously at 70, 80 or 90 mph.
