there are a number of scenarios which spring to mind including production line error or the car's been in an unrecorded smash and the geometry is out. the carmayhave had an aftermarket steering wheel fitted by the previous owner if the car is s-h and the OEM wheel refitted prior to sale. whichever, I tend to take theleast expensveline of attack with most jobs as a solution usually presents it's self in due course.
kwik-fit don't use lasers, it's still done with mirrors, nationally.
lets recap what wedoknow as posted by the OP:
the cardoessteer straight. the cardoes notwander or drift. there isnomention of uneven tyre wear. the trackinghasbeen checked and reported as ok. the 4 wheel alignmenthasbeen checked by laser and reported as ok. wedo notknow if any adjustments had to be made. there isnoevidence that the steering rackisfaulty. the steering wheelisa few degrees out and it bothers the OP.
it's isconsiderablymore expensive timeandcash wise to bugger about with endless checking and rechecking wheel alignmentsafterboth have been completed twice and reported as within tolerance.
it's a0(zero) cost20 minutejob to pop the steering wheel off and rotate the wheel around a few splines. the OP may have to repeat the operation several times as I did to get the 5 or six steering wheels I've fitted to line up straight, the first of whichIfitted tomyfirst car some 21 years ago. the last one was last year for a mates son and I also had to refit that one a few times.
