Techniques for new drivers was: NIP Arrived

Second try... new post this time rather than followup. Duh!

OK. I'll Bite and here it is, a new thread.

Here are few just to get the ball rolling.

1. The theory test should be made written and non-multiple choice. If you can't read and write english then tough. You have no business on the road if you can't read worded warning signs.

2. Increase the length and scope of the driving test. It should be at least an hour on the road and it should cover all road types. Yes, including motorways and the law should be changed to allow tuition on them with qualified instructors after they have reached a certain level of competence. The standard required to pbutt should be raised to at least that of the current IAM test.

3. Compulsory retesting, at the very least every 5 years. If you fail, you have 6 months to get yourself back up to standard. If you fail again, you are banned for year.

I replied to the other one before I spotted it wasn't a new thread... Mark Foster advanced...

There, that should be sufficiently controversial enough to spark some discussion.

Note: I am not particularly attached to any position on the above although I can see merits in all of them.
